I am happy to announce that I have been awarded an Ontario Arts Council grant towards completing my novel currently in progress. It is a neo-Gothic, neo-noir locked-room mystery with elements of slipstream about an older man (much like me) who desperately tries to find his disabled spouse who has vanished from her den as he struggles to navigate our post-truth, technology-manipulated world on his own.

I am grateful not only for this validation of my current writing but the encouragement it provides me to continue working in the midst of this century’s complicated publishing environment and its lack of attention to working class stories like mine.

As someone whose life embodies the ups, downs and concerns of the working class demographic, I will always try my best to provide an entertaining and hopefully thought provoking perspective.
